The original ancientmedallion.com was created in April 2003 as a publicity site to generate interest in the lead up to the internet release of The Shift of the Ages in April 2003. Hundreds of thousands of people from around the world followed the discovery made by a British researcher, Professor Winwood, of an ancient medallion, which he believed was connected to the ancient and fabled civilization of Atlantis.

The concept behind this site was to bring some of the characters from the novel to life in cyberspace. This site reveals an event that took place five years before the timing of the novel which is set in 2008.

When it was unveiled that the event lead to the release of a new novel, sales were generated from all over the world.
